Rest In The Lord

Psalm
62:1 (NIV) “My soul
finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from
Him.”
Psalm 62:5-6 (NIV) “Find
rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from
Him; He alone is my rock and my salvation; He
is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”
Psalm 62:8 (NIV) “Trust
in Him at all times. O people; pour out your hearts
to Him, for God is our refuge.”
Psalm 62:11 (NIV) “One
thing God has spoken, two things have I heard;
that you, O Lord are strong, and that you, O Lord,
are loving.”
How many times do we have consequences
in our lives as a result of choices we have made?
How many times are we hurt and let down from people
we know-friends, family members, even our church
brothers and sisters? How many times do we experience
hard times as Christians, finding ourselves in
the most difficult of positions? Are you struggling
spiritually, emotionally, physically or financially?
God, at times, will allow His saints to go through
certain situations in order to exhort, edify,
and build up both the individual saint and the
corporate Church Body.

The answer is for our souls to
find rest in God alone, regardless of the situation.
We must surrender our all to God and we must trust
in God with all our hearts. Too many Christians
live in guilt and shame and are succumbing to
the ways of the world and the wiles of Satan.
Please remember-our salvation does not depend
on us, but only on God. It is not based on works,
but on faith in the Lord.
Through all our trials and tribulations
the most important thing is our relationship with
God. We must rely on the Lord’s amazing
grace and mercy. We rest in the knowledge that
Jesus never changes-we may change but the Lord
is constant-Thank God!
God is our fortress and our rock
and always speaks the truth. When hard times hit
we need not be shaken-we need only to rest in
the Lord and rely on His word. Our hope is in
God, not our circumstances. If you know Jesus
as your Savior you will always have hope. We must
stop placing our expectations on people and place
them completely on God. It’s easy to trust
in God when things are going well and we’re
experiencing the mountain top. However, when the
valleys come we tend to worry instead of remembering
that God is sovereign. We should pour out our
hearts to God and stop complaining to other people.
If need be, cry out to the Lord just as King David
did. God can handle you being mad at Him. God
can handle tough questions. Reach out to God in
all your humility, understand what God has done
for you and know who you are in the Lord. God
is awesome. He will lift you up.
Come into His presence, praise
Him and worship Him in good times and bad times.
Also, we need to stop playing
Church and be responsible Christians. Stop coming
to Church late, stop leaving Church early and
when you miss Church please go before the Lord
God, your maker, and be sure this is what God
is calling you to do. Examine your conscience
before the one true God. Step away from your rebelliousness
and recognize that your complete security is in
God.
Please know how blessed you are
to be a child of the Lord! Our attitudes, thoughts,
behaviors and problems should be brought to the
Lord. Our promise is in God, our strength is in
God, our life is in God, and He is our First Love-our
most important relationship.
God is in control, God is in
charge and Jesus our Savior is always there for
us. Lay your burdens at the Cross and allow the
Lord to fill you with His peace, His love, His
life giving Holy Spirit.
One day we shall behold the Lord.
“Every knee will bow and every tongue confess
that Jesus is Lord” (Phil 2:10-11). This
life is only temporary. Eternity is forever! And
thank God “Our light and momentary troubles
are creating for us an eternal glory” (2nd
Cor. 4:17).
Amen!
